**** NEW PROGRAM: Pet in the Household: 5/3-5/9
The following program is for students that careers subject them to entering a home with pets. There are certain techniques and strategies that will prevent injury to yourself as well as the pet in the household. This class is especially helpful to career people such as healthcare givers, law enforcement and fireman among the few professions that could benefit. The class is offered online and offers CEU credits. It will be taught by Marlene Wagner who’s credentials are extremely impressive.
Marlene Wagner, BS CPDT
EDUCATION: Marlene Wagner earned a BS at Cornell University in 1981.
She graduated and is certified from Purdue University’s Animal Behavior Clinic certification course: DOGS Principles and Techniques of Behavior Modification in 2005.
Marlene has been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, CPDT, since 2005 (international standardized testing in animal training and behavior, learning theory, equipment and ethics).
The pet educational programs that are offered in upstate New York @ Hudson Valley Community college will be offered @ Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers Florida starting in February 2015. The programs offered are the pet certificate program as well as the pet CPR/First Aid program. Also, in April they will begin @ Borough of Manhattan community college in New York.
